Canada is a country that is renowned for its welcoming attitude towards immigrants, and it has various immigration programs that are designed to attract skilled professionals from all over the world. One of these programs is the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which enables provinces and territories to nominate eligible candidates for permanent residency (PR) in Canada.

Each province and territory has its own PNP, and the criteria for eligibility differ depending on the particular program. Some PNPs may require candidates to have a job offer in a specific occupation, while others may prioritize candidates with specific language skills or educational qualifications.

Recently, there has been an increase in interest in PNPs that offer a more friendly option for permanent residency, especially for candidates who do not have a job offer or do not meet the requirements of the federal Express Entry program.

Nova Scotia is one province that is currently providing a more flexible option for permanent residency. The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) offers several streams that do not necessitate candidates to have a job offer in the province or meet the minimum score requirements of the federal Express Entry program.

The Nova Scotia Labor Market Priorities Stream is one such stream, which allows the province to target candidates with specific skills and experience that are in demand in the local labor market. The NSNP also provides the Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry Stream, which is geared towards candidates who have already worked in the province for at least one year and have a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer.

For entrepreneurs who wish to start or invest in a business in the province, the NSNP also has a Business Immigration Stream. This stream is intended to attract entrepreneurs who have the necessary skills and experience to establish and operate a successful business in Nova Scotia.

Apart from the NSNP, other provinces and territories in Canada also offer PNPs with friendly options for permanent residency. For instance, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) provides a Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream that allows candidates who have already worked in the province for at least six months to apply for permanent residency. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) also provides a Human Capital Priorities Stream that targets candidates with specific skills and experience that are in demand in the local labor market.
