Salem State University now supports Hypothesis, a "social annotation" tool that can be used in Canvas with PDFs, websites, and other digital documents. Adding Hypothesis to readings in Canvas places active discussion right on top of course readings, enabling students and teachers to add comments and start conversations in the margins of texts.

As an SSU instructor, you can now access Hypothesis via Assignments and Modules in your Canvas course:

Important Note: Hypothesis is compatible with Speedgrader, but ONLY if you use Hypothesis with Assignments and follow those directions. You can then add created assignments to relevant modules so your students can access them.
