Popularized in Jennifer Gonzalez' Cult of Pedagogy blog, a single point rubric may save you time - and, research says, help increase student achievement. To make the rubric, simply describe what proficiency in a skill looks like. Grading involves circling met targets and writing comments on areas where a student did not meet or excelled beyond targets.

To create this type of rubric in Canvas - simply describe each criteria, and then check the box that says, "I'll write free-form comments when assessing students." This rubric can then be added to current and future Canvas Assignments, and used for student peer review.
