After your first observation, your supervising practitioner will send you a completed formative assessment form Download formative assessment form

. This is to give you early information on what you are doing well and what elements you could work on developing further.

You will use this information to inform your professional goal.

Based on the professional goals you posted in the discussion board last week, make sure you review your proposed goal carefully and check that it 1) relates to student learning and 2) is clearly and objectively measurable.

If there are recommendations beyond what is needed for your goal, you need to address them as well. This does not mean accepting them blindly, but it does mean giving them due consideration, trying them out where appropriate, and having an open conversation about what is and is not useful to your work.
