School of Education Canvas Course Shells
To promote cohesion and consistency across online courses in the School of Education, which will lower barriers to entry for online courses for both students and faculty, create a well-structured Canvas-based course. The advice in this section is intended to support you in developing your Canvas course.
Use the SOE Canvas course shell to save yourself time on the particularities of setting up a course and to promote consistency across SOE course offerings. The Canvas course shell includes customizations for a Course Landing Page, Course Modules, and the Left-hand Side Menu in Canvas.
Canvas course shells for hybrid, online asynchronous, and online blended courses are each designed to reflect the differences between course modalities, such as required information on the Course Landing Page and set-up of course modules. Each shell also includes a syllabus template to help you draft your syllabus.
To use the SOE Canvas Course Shell in your course, follow the instructions below. Instructions for importing course content (Links to an external site.), including visuals, are also available from Canvas.
