Overview of Modules

MODULES help keep course content organized  for the instructor and  for students.  Content can be organized in Modules by weeks, units, or some other structure appropriate for the course. Modules may contain all the course materials a student needs to complete a module such as Pages, Files, Assignments, Quizzes, and Discussions. For example, each Module might contain a weekly overview and instructions, readings, assignments, quizzes, and any supplemental materials for a week. Instructors can create a flow for the delivery of content that matches the syllabus. The modules names match the syllabus groupings like Topic, Unit, or Week .Materials that can be added to the module are: Text headers, Content items like Pages and Files,External tools, and External URs.

Modules have features like specific open or close dates and times. Faculty can track a student progress through a unit. Instructors can put the items in a particular order to assist with the flow of the unit/lesson/topic and require students to move through sequentially. Student can be required to demonstrate the learning by completing certain items before moving to the next unit by adding prerequisites..
